Skins, side games and the Calcutta
The Perch keeps the score and the tally. It never holds or moves money: players settle side games with each other, and you keep the Calcutta book.
Side games ride on the players' rounds
Your event's own competition is set in the event builder. Skins and other money games are added by golfers to their own round, before it is posted. Any game started from an event-day round shows on your event under Play, in a Side games list.
- Start the event round as usual.
- In the round lobby, tap Add game. Mid-round, use Add a game on the scorecard menu.
- Pick Skins (or Team skins, Match Play, Wolf and so on), set the rules and an optional Stake, then tap Create game.
How skins are worked out
The lowest score on a hole wins the skin. With Carryovers On, a tied hole's skin carries to the next hole. Validation set to Birdie+ means only a birdie or better wins a skin, and Birdies double makes those skins worth twice as much. On Net scoring, strokes come off the low man: the lowest estimated handicap plays scratch and everyone else gets the difference.
The stake is per skin. Each player settles the difference in skins with every other player at that rate. In Team skins it is per person per skin.
Settling up
The game page's Settle up shows each player's plus or minus. A host taps Finish game when the round is done; it can't be undone. Finished games with a stake then show in each player's Ledger (Profile, then Ledger). One player taps Mark settled and the other taps Confirm settled.
The Calcutta
Open Money, then Calcutta, on the web. It is tracking only: no money moves through The Perch and every amount is a tally you keep. You are responsible for running it legally, and it is for adults (18+) only.
Finishes come from the leaderboard. The Board shows the pool, what each place pays and who is owed what, with Mark settled on each line.
- Tick the box confirming everyone taking part is 18 or older.
- Under Settings, tick Calcutta is on. Choose Who can see the board, whether Lots are Teams or Players, and a Payout split such as 1st 50% / 2nd 30% / 3rd 20%, then tap Save settings.
- Under Lots and bids, tap Add teams from the event (or Add players from the event). Enter each Winning bidder and Winning bid, then tap Save lot.
- Tap Mark bid collected as each bid is paid.
Side games and the Calcutta are free on every plan; the printable Calcutta report needs Plus or Pro.
Your first event on The Perch is free.
