Formats and flights
You set the format on the event builder's Scoring step: who competes, how it is scored, and whether to use flights.
Leaderboard formats
Under Competitors, choose Individuals or Teams. Under How is it scored?, choose Leaderboard, then a Format: Stroke play, Stableford, Scramble, Best ball or Quota.
Pick Net or Gross. With net, a slider sets how much of each player's estimated handicap counts (50–150%). Stroke play, Stableford and Quota can Show both gross and net leaderboards.
Head-to-head matches
Choose Head-to-head matches, then a structure. Fixed pairings - Cup opens the Cup builder for team matches such as Singles Match Play, Best Ball (Four-Ball), Shamble or Scramble. Round-robin + finals - Championship opens the Championship builder: teams play round-robin in flights, then a finals playoff. Knockout bracket stays here; pick single or double elimination later on the Brackets page.
Add flights
With flights on, you can also tick Add a championship final, where the top finishers in each flight advance.
- On the Scoring step, tick Split the field into flights / divisions. Flight A and Flight B appear.
- Rename them and enter a minimum and maximum estimated handicap for each, or leave the ranges blank to place players yourself after sign-ups.
- Tap + Add flight for more.
After you create the event
Open Play, then Flights, to edit them. Each flight can have its own tee box, and with an estimated handicap range set, players are placed as they register. Under Money, Prizes can pay out Overall or Per flight.
More than one day or round
On When & where, use + Add a day and + Add a round. Each round has its own holes, first tee and course. With two or more leaderboard rounds, a round can use a different format, as long as both count strokes or both count points, and the Scoring step asks whether to Sum all rounds or count the Best N rounds. The Advanced step adds a Cut and a USGA countback tiebreaker.
How to pick
Start blank is a single net stroke-play round. Templates give you a head start:
A charity day: Charity Scramble, a 4-person shotgun scramble with card sign-ups, donations and a raffle.
A company day: Corporate Outing, an invite-only scramble with dinner tickets for guests who don't play.
A club title: Club Championship, two days of flighted gross and net stroke play.
Members and guests: Member-Guest (best ball, a leaderboard per flight) or Member-Guest Match Play.
Two teams on a trip: Ryder Cup.
Mixed abilities: net scoring with flights by estimated handicap.
Every format, flights and multi-day events work on all plans; generating pairings automatically (including By flight) needs Plus.
Your first event on The Perch is free.
