Waitlists and promo codes

When the field fills

Set a Field cap in the event builder's Registration step. Once the field is full, the sign-up button changes to Join the waitlist. Nothing is charged to join, and golfers see their place in line, for example You're #2 on the waitlist.

The waitlist also catches sign-ups past your plan's player limit, and Perch lets you know when that happens.

How spots are offered

When a confirmed golfer cancels, when you remove someone, or when you withdraw someone before the event starts, the next person in line moves in on their own. They get an email and a notification. What happens next depends on how the event takes payment:

Free event: they're in.

Cash event: they're in and pay at check-in.

Card event: they have 48 hours to pay. Their spot shows Reserved - payment incomplete with a Complete payment button. If they don't pay in time, they're told by email and the spot passes to the next person.

If you withdraw someone once the event has started, nobody is moved in from the waitlist.

Manage the waitlist yourself

1. Open People, then Roster. Waitlisted golfers are listed in order under Waitlist.
2. Tap Promote to move someone in ahead of the line.
3. Tap Remove to take someone off the waitlist.

Create a promo code

Promo codes work on card events only. Open Money, then Discounts & referrals.

1. Under One-off promo code, type a code of 3 to 32 letters, numbers, dashes or underscores.
2. Choose $ off or % off and enter the amount.
3. Set how many uses it allows (it starts at one), then tap Create.
4. Share the code. Golfers enter it under Promo or friend's code when they register and tap Apply.

How codes behave

Discounts come off the entry fee only, never add-ons or donations, and a code only works on its own event. Each golfer can use a code once. Codes are unique across The Perch, so if yours is taken, pick another. Tap Deactivate to stop a code and Reactivate to turn it back on. Redemptions show in Finance as a lower amount collected.

Bring-a-friend discount

On the same page, set what a friend saves and tap Save reward. Every player who registers then gets a personal code to share, which works once and can't be used by its owner. You can also give the referrer credit toward their next event with you.
