Your members

People is your member list, built for you. Everyone who signs up for your events, joins your leagues or joins the club lands here with their history, and you can bring in the list you already keep.

Who shows up on People

Open your club hub and tap People. It lists everyone who has registered for your events, joined your leagues or joined the club. It also holds people you add yourself: an imported list, someone added by hand, an event guest, or someone who filled in your interest form.

Someone without a Perch account shows Not on Perch (or Guest) where a username would go. When they sign up with that email, their account links to the card and their history fills in.

Club members means your club's accepted members. For an organization, it means your accepted staff plus everyone whose current-season dues are paid or waived.

Active means some activity in the last 180 days. Lapsed means none in 180 days.

Find the right people

The chips across the top show People, Active, Lapsed, Club members, Owing and Not on Perch, plus Dues unpaid once you run a membership season and someone hasn't paid. Tap a chip to see just those people.

Search by name, username, email, tag or note, and sort by Most recent, Name, Most events or Most paid.

On the web, tap Filter for more. The first row has Everyone, Club members, Active, Lapsed, Newly lapsed, Owing and Opted in to email. Under Membership you'll find Dues unpaid, Dues paid, Lapsed members, Not on Perch, Guests and Leads. Below those, tap a tag, or use Your fields to pick one of your own fields and a value. Save this view keeps a filter, tag and search under Saved so you can open the same list in one tap.

In the phone app the filters, tags and Your fields sit right on the screen, with no Filter button.

A person's page

Tap a name to see their email and phone, their totals (events played, registered, leagues, wins, paid and outstanding), their dues, and their history: Events, Leagues, Refunds and the Messages you've sent them.

Private note and tags are for you and your other hosts only. The player never sees them. Type a tag and tap Add (up to 20 per person). The note saves when you click away (or tap away in the phone app).

Under Reminders, pick a day, type a note and tap Remind me. On that day it shows on your Today tab's follow-up list. Tap Done or Remove when you're finished with it.

For someone not on Perch, a Contact card takes the place of the note. Edit their name, email, phone, membership type, tags and note, then tap Save. Delete contact asks you to tap Yes, delete. It removes them from your list and any dues record, but their event registrations stay.

In the phone app, a person's page also has Follow up, where you can log a call (for example No answer, Talked or Call back on a date), mark it Done or Snooze a week.

Add people or import your list

Anyone whose email already belongs to a Perch account is linked automatically. Someone already on your list is updated, not added twice.

To add just one person, use Add one person at the bottom of the import page: a Name and an Email or Phone, plus Membership type and Tags if you like. If you enter an email, tick This person has agreed to hear from (your club name), then tap Add person.

  1. On People, tap Actions, then Import list. In the phone app, tap Import list.
  2. On the web, tap Choose a .csv or .txt file, or copy the cells from your spreadsheet and paste them. Download the template if you want a ready-made file. You can import up to 2,000 people at a time. The phone app takes pasted lists: tap Paste, or Open on the web for file upload.
  3. Tap Preview. Check what each column fills in: Full name, First name, Last name, Email, Phone, Membership type, Tags or Skip this column, plus any of Your fields. Untick First row is a header if your list has no header row.
  4. Look over the first few people and any Skipped rows.
  5. Tick These people have agreed to hear from (your club name), then tap Import (number) people.

Your fields and households

Your fields let you track anything your club needs, like a GHIN number, shirt size, member number or birthday. Tap Your fields on People, then Add a field. Name it and pick Text, Number, Date or Pick one (type the choices with commas). A Date field can be marked This is their birthday, which drives the birthday note in Messages and Automations. You can have up to 30 fields, and deleting one removes its value from everyone. This works on the web and in the phone app.

Fill a field in on a person's page under Your fields with Add or Edit, then Save. An import can fill them too.

A household links a spouse or family. On a person's page, tap Start a household, find someone in People and tap Start household. Add someone brings in more people. Send to them picks who gets the household's email. To take someone out, tap Remove (their first name) from it.

Possible duplicates and merging

The same golfer can land on your list twice, from an import and a sign-up, or under two emails. When two rows share an email, a phone or a full name, People shows a Possible duplicates button with a count. When there are none it reads Duplicates. The count leaves out groups you marked Not a duplicate on that device.

Open it, choose the row to keep and tap Merge. The others fold into it with their dues, notes, tags, calls, reminders, fields and messages. A merge can't be undone. Not a duplicate hides that group on the device you're using.

A Perch account is always the one kept, and two Perch accounts can't be merged. On the web, a person's page also has Merge someone into (their first name) to merge any row you pick. The phone app merges from Possible duplicates only.

Email your people

Email goes only to people who opted in to email when they registered, or contacts whose card says They agreed to hear from the club. It never goes to anyone who unsubscribed or turned off host emails. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and once someone uses it the club can't switch email back on for them. Everyone with a Perch account can also get a copy in their Perch inbox, and replies come to your email address. Before you send, the composer tells you how many people it can reach by email.

Actions also has Invite to an event, which sends a Perch inbox invite and skips anyone already registered or invited. Copy emails copies only the opted-in addresses. For a club, Post to the club opens its Comms page (bulletin and chat). Export CSV downloads the list; in the phone app it opens the share sheet.

  1. Filter People to the list you want, then tap Actions and Email these people. To email only some people, tick their boxes and tap Email selected.
  2. Write a subject and message, or start from a saved reply or a designed template.
  3. If some people share a household, tick Once per household to send one copy each.
  4. Tap Review and send, check it, then tap Send to (number) people.

People is part of Pro. Below Pro, the page shows your real counts and the first five names, then the upgrade.

Your first event on The Perch is free.
