Payments, the $4 fee and payouts
Golfers pay their entry by card when they register, and the money goes to your own Stripe account. Perch adds one small fee per paid registration, already included in the price golfers see.
Connect Stripe first
Connect Stripe before you build a card event. If your Stripe account isn't Active when you create the event, a card event is saved to collect cash instead.
- Open Settings, then Account, and tap Manage next to Payments.
- Tap Connect Stripe. Stripe asks for your bank account and verifies your identity.
- Back on The Perch, check the status. Active means you can take card payments.
- If Stripe still needs something, tap Finish onboarding. Refresh status checks again.
Turn on card payment
In the event builder's Registration step, choose Open sign-ups. Under Entry fee, pick Card (online) and enter the Fee ($ / player).
A card event with an entry of $10 or more runs free up to 120 golfers on any plan. Cash events, free events and smaller entries are free up to 40.
The Perch fee
Perch's fee is $4.00 or 5% of the entry, whichever is lower, and it's the same on every plan, except that Pro clubs stop paying it once their Perch fees reach $1,200 in a calendar year. A $25 entry pays $1.25 and a $65 entry pays $3.25. Anything the golfer buys at checkout counts toward the 5%, except donations.
There is no fee on free events, on cash events, or on donations, whether a golfer adds one at checkout or gives on your donate page.
The price golfers see already includes the fee. The button shows the full amount, for example Pay $42 to register, with a line under it such as Includes Perch's $2 registration fee.
Who covers the fee
In the same step, Who covers the Perch fee has two choices. Added at checkout means the golfer covers it, inside the one price they see. I'll cover it means golfers pay only the entry, and the fee is deducted from your payout. The builder shows exactly what golfers will pay.
You can also set Your registration fee ($ / player) - optional. Golfers then pay your fee in place of Perch's. Perch keeps its cut and you keep everything above it.
How payouts reach you
When a golfer pays, Stripe sends the payment to your connected Stripe account. If you cover the Perch fee, it comes out of that payment. Stripe's card processing fee also comes out of your share.
Stripe then pays the money out to your bank on your Stripe account's payout schedule. To see your payouts or change your bank account, tap Open Stripe dashboard on the Payments page.
Card payments and the Perch fee work the same on every plan, until a Pro club reaches $1,200 in Perch fees in a year; checkout add-ons need Plus.
Your first event on The Perch is free.
