Check-in and walk-ups
Event morning runs from your Roster. You can check golfers in as they arrive, add people who turn up unregistered, and settle what they owe.
Open the roster
On your event page, tap People, then Roster. The strip at the top counts Confirmed, Checked in and Waitlist, plus Paid on a paid event, and it updates as you tap.
Check golfers in
On a multi-round event, first pick the round in the Check-in row; each round keeps its own check-ins. The phone app's Roster works the same way.
- Find the golfer, or type in the Search by name box.
- Tap Check in on their row. It changes to Checked in. Tap it again to undo a mistake.
- To see who is missing, tap Filter, then Not checked in.
Add a walk-up
On a net event, give guests an estimated handicap, or they are scored at scratch. Pick a guest's flight from the Flight box on their row. Walk-ups count toward your plan's player limit.
- Below the roster, tap + Add walk-up player. It works even after registration has closed.
- Type at least two letters of their name or @username.
- If they have a Perch account, tap Add beside their name. The Perch puts them in a flight by estimated handicap when one fits.
- No account? Tap Add guest to add the name you typed, with an optional Email (so they can claim their spot later) and Estimated handicap.
Take payment on the day
On a cash event, everyone you add starts out owing, and their row shows Owes with the amount. When they pay, open the three-dot menu on their row and tap Mark paid. Mark unpaid reverses it.
On a card event, a golfer with an account you add stays pending until they pay from the event page with Complete payment. Guests on a card event can't pay in the app.
While anyone owes, Nudge unpaid appears above the list. Tap it, then Send, to email a reminder to each golfer with an account who owes.
Paper and the pro shop
Prefer a clipboard? Tap Play, then Print Sheets, then Check-in sheet: the field A to Z with a tick box, EST. HCP, flight, cart, a signature line and, on a cash event, what each player owes.
For course staff, open Pairings and find Course day sheet. Tap Create link, then Copy, and send it to the pro shop. Staff can tap Check in for each player without an account, and it shows on your roster. New link stops the old one working.
Check-in, walk-ups, payments and the course day sheet work on every plan; the printed check-in sheet needs Plus.
Your first event on The Perch is free.
