What we do with your data.

The short version
We collect what we need to run a golf social app — your name, email, scores, and the friends you choose to connect with. We don't sell your data, we don't run ad networks against it, and you can delete your account at any time from Settings.

The Perch is operated by Perch Golf LLC, a California limited liability company. Perch Golf LLC is the company responsible for the data described here.

What we collect
- Account info — your email and password (hashed by Supabase, our auth provider).
- Profile info — name, username, location, home course, handicap index, optional avatar. You control what's public via Settings → Privacy.
- Round data — courses you've played, scores, putts, fairways hit, stats. We use this for your handicap, achievements, and the feed.
- Social graph — your friendships, games, side bets, ledger entries, and messages in game chat.
- Device basics — IP address and browser type, used for security (rate-limiting sign-in attempts, that kind of thing).
How we use it
- Run the product — scoring, handicap calculation, feed, leaderboards, side-bet tally.
- Show your rounds to the friends you choose, and keep private rounds private.
- Send you product emails you opted into (notifications, password resets).
- Investigate abuse or security incidents.
Who we share it with
We use a small set of vendors to operate the app. They process your data on our behalf and only for our purposes:
- Supabase — database, authentication, file storage (avatars). Hosted in the US.
- Golf Course API — course / tee data lookup. We send course-name queries; no personal info crosses this boundary.
- Our hosting provider — runs the Perch web app itself.
We don't sell, rent, or trade your data. We don't serve advertising and never run ad-targeting against it.
Your choices
- See what we have. Everything The Perch knows about you is visible somewhere in the app — your profile, your rounds, your friendships. Email us if you want a full export.
- Change it. Edit your profile, mark rounds private, or remove friendships any time.
- Delete it. Settings → Danger zone deletes your account and the associated data. This is permanent and we can't undo it.
Age limit
The Perch is for golfers 13 and older. Don't create an account if you're under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change we'll bump the effective date at the top and let you know in the app. Continued use after a change means you've accepted the new version.
