Build your event with Albie
Albie is the assistant built into The Perch. Tell it about your event in plain words and it fills in the event builder for you to check. It never creates or publishes an event on its own.
Describe your event
- Open the Events tab, tap New, then New event.
- Tap the Albie button beside the "Build any event." heading.
- Describe the event in a sentence or two: the date, the course, how many players, how you want to play, and any entry fee or prize money.
- Tap Set up with AI.
Answer a question or two
If Albie needs something it can't guess, like the date, it asks a short question, three at most. Tap a suggested answer or type your own. Tap Just build it to skip ahead with sensible defaults.
Review the draft
Albie saves a draft and opens the builder with its answers filled in. Go through each step and change anything that isn't right. Check these first:
Course: Albie types in the name you gave. Tap Change on each round and pick the course from the list so the round is linked to it.
Payment: Albie sets an entry fee to Cash / collect later. To take cards, choose Open sign-ups, then Card (online), on the Registration step.
The builder saves as you go. Unfinished builds wait under Your event drafts at the top of the New event page.
Create and publish
- On the Review step, fix anything the builder flags, then tap Create event.
- Your new event starts as a Draft that only you can see. Under Event Details, tap the Status button (it reads Draft) and choose Published.
- If players will sign themselves up, tap Status again and choose Registration open.
- Send the link with Copy link on the banner above your new event, or with Share event.
Planning a team trip
On the web, describe two teams playing matches, like a Ryder Cup weekend, and Albie opens the Cup builder instead, with the days, formats and teams filled in. Nothing is created until you create the Cup yourself.
Change it later
Open the gear (Setup & settings) and find the Albie box. Type a change, like "move it to Saturday and cap it at 60", tap Suggest changes, check the list, then tap Apply.
No account yet?
Try it at app.perchgolf.com/start. Describe the event, tap Draft my plan, then Create a free account to save it. The plan opens in the event builder.
Albie works on every plan; each event build counts as one Albie request from your monthly allowance (Free 5, Prime 100, Plus 200, Pro 500), however many questions it asks.
Your first event on The Perch is free.
Still stuck? Ask Albie in the app, or write to hello@perchgolf.com.
